Stars forward Fabian Brunnstrom and Jonas Gustavsson had dinner together Saturday night in Sweden as Brunnstrom tries to convince his buddy to sign with Dallas. Gustavsson, who is expected to soon make a decision as to where he'll take his game this season, also had dinner with Toronto D-man Jonas Frogren earlier in the week.

It is possible the "Monster" makes a decision by the end of the weekend. While we do know he has narrowed his choices down to San Jose, Dallas, Toronto, and Colorado, it's difficult to read into where this kid will end up.

Each of the above listed teams have had multiple face to face meetings with Gustavsson in Sweden except for San Jose who has not met with the Swedish star in his native country.

The fact that these four teams appear to be the favorites hasn't stopped several clubs from going behind his agents back and personally contacting Gustavsson.

I'm told even within the last few days Tamp Bay is one club that continues to make their last second attempt to lure the Swede.

Prior to free agency the St. Louis Blues were another team who invited Gustavsson into town for a personal tour but he turned down the invitation.

I'm told Colorado should not be completely ruled out as Colorado's Craig Billington and Gustavsson have really hit it off and have struck up a good friendship.

Les Jackson from the Dallas Stars recently traveled to Sweden to meet with Gustavvson as well.

It was reported that Leafs GM Brian Burke traveled to Sweden on July first to meet with Gustavsson but we recently learned Burke was actually there hoping to meet with the Sedin twins. It wasn't until after Burke landed in Sweden that he learned the Sedins re-signed with Vancouver. Burke and Gustavsson never got together this week in Sweden.

Blues Clues!

Blues first round pick David Rundblad will not be attending the Blues prospect camp this week in St. Louis.

All the Blues 2009 picks except for 3rd rounder Sergei Andronov and Rundblad are expected to attend the camp.

The Blues have signed goaltender Hannu Toivonen to a 1 year two way NHL contract for this upcoming season. Toivonen, who re-discovered his game in Finland last season, will team with Ben Bishop in Peoria.

More to come,
