While Canada, Finland Russia performed blow-outs (10-0 vs Korea, 8-1 vs Latvia and 7-0 vs Austria respectively), Sweden and Czech Republic was to be the game to watch in the day three of the World Hockey Championships.

Game began with both sides testing out their offensive power but Swedes struck first on a counter-attack and Rickard Rakell with a perfect snipe far-side to make it 1-0.
Minutes later interference penalty sent Czechia down a man and it was enough for Swedes to gain a 2-0 lead – this time from a goal by Mattias Janmark. After that Czech side hit the cross-bar.
Czech side finally got their own goal to come back within a goal late in the 2nd period from an execution of a 5on3 power-play. A face-off won and a blast from the blueline sealed the goal.

In the 3rd period Sweden played a lot better hockey and Mika Zibanejad kept being a highlight reel, this time making it 3-1 for Sweden with a beautiful backhander.

Late in the 3rd Czech scored another one but it wasn’t enough for them giving Sweden another victory, this time 3-2 against Czechia. °

Meanwhile, Slovakia played very well, even though they lost a flag ended up on the ice.
