The president of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko during his meeting with Russian president Vladimir Putin have touched the topic of sports.

It's known that both Putin and Lukashenko are huge hockey fans. The Belarusian has made a request to Putin to solve an issue that mostly touches his country - He wants the Belarussian players not to count as imports so they don't have to change their nationality. Both sides discussed such idea for soccer as well.

All teams except Dinamo Riga, Dinamo Minsk, Jokerit Helsinki, Kunlun Red Star and Slovan Bratislava are allowed to register only five import players.

In first few seasons the Belarussian players did not count against the import limit but right now the friendly neighbor nations players are up against it.

''There is another issue with our athletes'' Lukashenko noted. ''Our players that are playing in Russia count as import players and that often forces our players to switch passports. Such Russian sports ministries actions are against our agreement to about creation of a union between the countries. ''
