This is just a fun piece as the HB servers implode and send viewers to other blogs when they click on this. I love these Luongo rumours…RUMOURS MONEY. Shit shake it off Adam…it’s too easy. BUT I LOVE BALLARD AND LUONGO FOR GARDINORR AND A FIRST! No..stop…CONNOLLOLOLOLOLY AD KOMISAREK FOR LUONGO!!!!!!

Ok let’s get real. This random rumour generation has been fun and I have (bold this) no idea what will happen, this is all in jest/speculation. If I were the Leafs and Canucks I would make this trade.

Clarke MacArthur, Tyler Bozak and Stuart Percy for Roberto Luongo, Manny Malhotra a 2nd round pick and a 6th round pick

Now to start right off I get the hate. I hate it too. Well we all do. Let’s look into it in-depth.

Canucks:

Give Cory the chance he “deserves” “needs” and will likely “own.” Look I like the kid to be a very quality starter, not Vezina like people talk about but top-10 at least if he keeps going the way he is. Luongo out of his hair helps him.

MacArthur helps by adding some sandpapery depth to the side. Mac had shown great play as a third and second line winger. I would even venture to say he might be better than Booth. Even if he ends up on the third line…who could hate a line with Hansen/Higgins and…Bozak?

Bozak is the key. Kesler is hurt hint hint. Now Kesler is obviously the 2nd line center, but until then a guy like Bozak is a much better option than Schroeder or Lapierre. Then you think come playoffs you got a center rotation of Sedin/Kesler/Bozak/Laps and you know you’re pretty strong. Hell Bozak is great on the draw, he isn’t Manny good but he can get you 55% and is reasonable defensively while better than other options offensively. Seems like a no brainer for the Canucks…would hurt the Leafs though.

Percy is a good prospect. I know Canucks fans like to dress up their prospects in gold even if that is obviously pyrite on several of them. Percy is 2-4 years away from being the two-way 4-5 defender he’s supposed to be, he’s just a bit of incentive.

Leafs:

They get Lou. I’m a big detractor, but what else can you say about him other than he’s a hell of a lot better than James Jesus Reimer and Ben 26 year old Scrivens right now. If they were going for a top pick, by all means this post is garbage…hell it’s garbage anyways. Luongo won’t be the only ingredient to bring this 10 year (7 season)…TEN YEAR drought to an end, but he’s a big stepping stone.

Malhotra. He has a bad eye, he’s a burden on the cap and brings little but face-offs. I would think this moves Grabo to the top line, then Kadri in desperation, McClement and then Malhotra. This is to help the caps out and that Vancouver doesn’t need him so much.

2nd and 6th rounders, nuff said, it’s value.

What do you think? Too little? Too much?

Thanks for reading.
