First off....Wow.. I have NEVER been inundated with more rumors and heard more talk of some MAJOR happenings prior to ANY Deadline and/or Draft and/or UFA Day... I am parsing them out and will begin passing them on to you...Sit back and JUST enjoy...If you are the kind of person who loves hockey rumors and speculation (and if you are reading this site you sure must be) then you are going to be in for a 100 hour treat...starting..NOW...
On Erik Karlsson...
I keep hearing Karlsson's name connected to Edmonton and Colorado mostly, but given all that has gone down in Ottawa (including murmurs of a possible Offer Sheet to Mark Stone) the Senators have been talking like they are turning up the heat on their attempt to extend Karlsson and use that signing as a launch pad to getting some players to come to the Sens...THEY NEED to do this and Karlsson can do the ultimate captain thing here and say he wants to move forward and is excited about the Sens...
To be clear, you are all correct of course, Karlsson's paperwork, like OEL out in Az, can't be officially filed until July 1...but they can get the word out, as Arizona did with OEL ...and that can IMMENSELY help calm the fanbase and players who may or may not be considering leaving or coming to Ottawa...
