As it has already been reported over and over again multiple times on every single platform possible - The Washington Capitals are the Stanley Cup champions for the 1st time in 44 years of their existence. It's the 1st cup victory for many of the players including the leader - Captain Alex Ovechkin who has spent 13 seasons with the capital city.

While Ovechkin is busy celebrating the cup victory, the Russian forward mother Tatiana Ovechkina has revealed a promise that was made more than 10-years ago to the owner of Washington Capitals - Ted Leonsis.

''When we signed the new contract for 13 seasons, it was all our family sitting at the table - me, my husband, Alexander and his brother Mikhail. We all made a promise to Mr.Leonsis that we are going to win five Stanley Cup titles. We have one, four more to go''

The contract mentioned was signed in 2008 and was worth a grand total of 105 million euros. At that point, it was the most valuable contract in the history of the National Hockey League.

It's important to note that Alex has 3-years left on his current deal which means that there is room for three more cup victories, or should we take this as a hint of a potential extension lurking down the road?
