Let’s have some random Wednesday then, notes shall we? (Sheesh… I gotta stop binge watching “The Crown”)

- Pretty quiet over at 501 Broadway, lots of vacation time and planning time.

- Gary Bettman’s usual SCF press conference had some interesting tidbits… apparently a vote is coming, just not yet, on Seattle getting the 32nd NHL franchise. One thing we do know, the expansion draft rules probably will not change much.

- Bettman was also asked about Houston as a location for an NHL team. Pleanty of tongue wagging about that… my take? Houston now becomes the place you threaten to go when you want something from your market…

- How bad was the ice Monday night? Pretty damn bad… bouncing pucks all over the place.

- You can’t help but think that the Washington Capitals blew a … ummm… golden opportunity (sorry, couldn’t resist) on Monday night to take a 1-0 lead in this best of seven Stanley Cup Final. Anytime you put four past Marc-Andre Fluery, you’ve got to take that game.

- Fluery is awesome after a subpar performance… expect him to be a wall tonight… Braden Holtby… not so much… not sure what you will see here.

- I wonder how Vegas handles Tom Wilson after the rugged Cap avoided a suspension on a slightly late hit… do they go after him? Or ignore him? Something to watch tonight.

- Tom Wilson is giving David Perron all kinds of cover. The Wilson hit has no one talking about the fact that he left the bench and hit Alex Ovechkin… Perron became the 7th man on the ice and you can make an argument that he should draw a 10 game suspension for doing it… see rule 70.6 … it’s not going to happen, but Vegas shouldn’t complain too hard about the lack of suspension to Wilson.
