It's Victoria Day (which, whatever it is supposed to be, is a Holiday for us up here in Canada) and that means I'm leaving the kids with our butler, and the Misses and I are heading out on our yacht for a day on the water. It's going to be all caviar and sunshine, at least until we head home in time for the game.
Game six is tonight at 8 PM.
Caps vs Lightning.
To sum up: The Capitals must win or go home. Alex Ovechkin must find the power to score on Andre Vasilevskiy, whose Con Smythe has been stolen by Marc-Andre Fleury, but who is nevertheless solely responsible for his team making it this far.
The Capitals have out played the Lightning for pretty much this entire series and only some bad luck has prevented a better outcome for Washington.
If the Capitals do not win, they will be the first team in NHL history to go up 2-0 on the road in a Conference Final and not go on to play for the Stanley Cup.
Andre Burakovsky will be back in the lineup tonight, after he was ridiculously scratched for game five. Trotz is the most frustrating coach I've ever had to watch, and a smart team will come trying to trade for Burakovsky in the offseason.
Other than that, it wouldn't be much of a phone-in post if I went on for much longer! The game is tonight, and everyone who cares knows all there is to know. The Capitals must win to force game seven.
Ovechkin is two games away from playing for the Cup. I hope it happens.
