When the Stanley Cup Playoffs roll around in the beginning of April, no team is playing at 100%. Because of the nature of the game, teams are often very beat up, and multiple guys play through injuries in hopes of being rewarded by getting a skate around the ice with the cup at the end of the run.

The Boston Bruins were no different.

After cleaning our their lockers Wednesday morning at Warrior Ice Arena, the Bruins met with the media for the first time since their season came to an end Sunday afternoon in Tampa Bay. A lot was talked about inside the Bruins' dressing room about what went wrong, what went right and what steps need to be taken for the Bruins to be better in 2018-19.

Who was suffering from what was also a big topic, and boy was the list lengthy. Let's take a look at some of the reported injuries the Bruins were playing through.

Brad Marchand

The Bruins' leading point scorer in the regular season suffered a groin injury that gave him problems in the second round. Marchand had eight points in the five games against the Lightning, but just one goal. Marchand also finished Game 5 without a shot on goal. Surgery is not expected and Marchand should be just fine for the start of training camp.

Patrice Bergeron

Like his linemate in Marchand, Bergeron was also hampered by injuries. The veteran forward suffered a groin injury shortly before the start of the season, an issue that bothered him off and on throughout the regular season. Bergeron hopes that with a few weeks of rest the injury will take care of itself. Otherwise, surgery will be discussed. Obviously, the Bruins would like to avoid surgery if necessary. You may also remember Bergeron unexpectedly missing Game 4 against the Maple Leafs. That was due to concussion like symptoms.

Jake DeBrusk

DeBrusk showed the Bruins a lot this season in what was a great rookie year for DeBrusk. Toughness was one of many positives he showed. The 21-year old played through the second round with an AC Joint shoulder injury, an issue that slowed him down for sure. DeBrusk said he wasn't going to let the issue take him out of the lineup.

Riley Nash

Nash admitted Wednesday that it was a concussion, as well as the stiches on his ear that caused him to miss the final five games of the regular season, as well as Games 1 and 2 of their opening round series with the Toronto Maple Leafs. The injuries came after taking a puck to the ear against the Florida Panthers on March 31st. During the playoffs, Nash was playing through a hip injury, and hopes that surgery is not needed.

Noel Acciari

The Bruins' fourth liner was suffering through a sports hernia that caused issues throughout the postseason. Acciari said the groin issue really gave him issues on his first step, an issue that certainly explains why his production was so low in the playoffs.

Zdeno Chara

The Bruins' captain suffered from a pair of injuries in the playoffs. According to Joe McDonald of The Athletic, Chara suffered a fractured right index finger in Game 2 against the Maple Leafs, as well as playing through a shoulder injury for the last eight weeks. The captain expects the finger to heal in six weeks and hopes to avoid surgery.

David Backes

After leaving Sunday's Game 5 after a hit to the head from JT Miller, Backes gave an update on how he is feeling. Backes is still hurting with some days better than others, and admitted he would have missed the remainder of the series had the Bruins advanced past Game 5. Backes also admitted he had no issues with Miller's hit and that had he saw him coming, he could have probably avoided the hit.

Brandon Carlo

Carlo provided an update on his broken ankle, which he said "feels fantastic." Carlo should be able to start walking normally in about a week, and will be ready to go for training camp.

Torey Krug

After his ugly spill in Game 4, Krug fractured his foot and will be in a walking boot for at least two more months. On the bright side, surgery is not needed.
