Random Notes from a Round Two off day…

- Tongues are still wagging after Filip Forsberg’s magic in Game Six and an extra off day (thanks to Justin Timberlake at Bridgestone Arena tonight) has the hype building for tomorrow night’s penultimate game of this second round series between Winnipeg and Nashville.

- The facts and figures are overflowing… home teams are 100-70 in game sevens… the team that scores first wins 74% of the time, 41 game sevens have gone to overtime, hot dog sales are down 12% during the second minute of the second period on days that end in “Y” … y’know… important stuff like that.

- Heck, even Mr. “Speakers, music and live bands” is talking nice about Smashville.

- Neither of these teams have lost two in a row in the playoffs this season thus far. Neither team has won two straight games in this grand slam final of a tennis match.

- This last off day of the second round will see the Preds practice at Centennial Sportsplex at 11:30am. The session is open to the public.

- No word on Mike Fisher and his status for tomorrow night. No update at all from the team yet.

- The Conference Final schedule is out… tomorrow night’s winner will host games one and two on Saturday and Monday night… Saturday’s game is on NBC with a 6pm start time.

- The Western Conference Final will feature two NBC games, Saturday 5/12 at 6pm and Sunday 5/20 @ 2pm.

- No matter who wins tomorrow, the final four teams will have combined for one or fewer Stanley Cups… that’s the first time in NHL history that has happened.

- Compelling storylines in the East… the dominating Tampa Bay Lightning vs. the dragon slaying Washington Capitals with Alex Ovechkin’s first foray into the conference final.

- Conference Final schedules worked out nicely as both series are on alternating nights...
