I do not know what the odds are of coming back from a 2-0 series deficit. But I do know that if you lose both those games at home, you're pretty much done.

I guess I could look it up, but it's not necessary: we know the Capitals were basically done.

Add in the fact that their coach makes extremely bad choices like he's M.C Hammer getting dressed in the dark, that their team isn't as good as Columbus's, and that Antari Panarin is suddenly Connor McDavid's equal and you have a recipe for some sweet tee times.

But - Braden Holtby does not give a _______

What can you say about this guy? He's amazing.

He goes through basically his first rough stretch of games (behind an absolutely brutal defense) in three years, and gets thrown to the wolves. His coach gives him job away to some guy named Philip. He doesn't even start in the playoffs.

But then bamo! He comes in and wins two games, on the road. The game last night - he stole it basically. The Blue Jackets had the majority of the play in both the first and the second, but old Holtby shut the door.

To the coach's credit, he did insert Christian Djoos back into the lineup, and he was not very good. My bad on that one.

Then again, when paired with Brooks Orpik, Djoos was a 20% player, but without Orpik he was over 50%. Maybe it's Orpik who sucks. (Maybe?????)

I would also quibble with Chandler Stephenson on a line with Backstrom and Oshie, but whatever, what do I know? The Caps won!

Now it's best of three and somehow, the Capitals have their home ice advantage back. I would hate to have John Torterella for a boss this morning. Yowzer.

Next game is Saturday. There is no doubt about who is going to be their starting goalie.
