Isles almost out of their misery

An old friend can help eliminate the New York Islanders from playoff contention tonight. Jack Capuano, who was fired by Garth Snow in January 2017, returns to Barclays for the second time this season as Florida Panthers assistant coach.

The Islanders, more notably Doug Weight, will likely spin this disappointment as the team fought hard and remained in contention until late March. A loser's mentality.

Casey Cizikas will miss the game with an upper-body injury. Chris Wagner will replace Cizikas in the lineup. Cizikas will likely not make the trip to Ottawa for tomorrow night.

Scott Mayfield, who broke his leg blocking a shot earlier in the year, could return tomorrow night. Alan Quine is also real close to returning. Two more reasons the Islanders are missing the playoffs, right Garth?

As much as the fans and myself criticize the organization on the ice, they do a great job off the ice.
