Just got off the phone with a source who has heard a lot of talk, going back to the trade deadline, regarding Erik Karlsson..

"It has picked up a ton over the last week or so...there is a good chance now that Karlsson will sign with the Senators an 8 year deal and then be moved...that is what will happen...to get the eight years and max return...and it benefits Karlsson because the 8th year comes into play. Both the Oilers and Canadiens want to talk to Erik's camp...The Habs owners is making it priority #1 in his meeting with the management team... The Oilers may offer up Draisaitl...not sure Montreal has anything close to that..."
