In this edition of the hotstove, we share our picks for the most entertaining team to watch this season.
Todd Cordell
For me it is Winnipeg.
They are deep, they are fast, they are skilled, they are physical, and they are fun.
Patrik Laine routinely scores ridiculous goals from anywhere and everywhere. Blake Wheeler darts up and down the wing and blows past anyone in his way. Dustin Byfuglien skates all over the ice and hits players into the 4th row on a nightly basis. Connor Hellebuyck has been as sound as pretty much anyone between the pipes. And there are several stars I haven't even mentioned.
Regardless of what traits you enjoy watching, the Jets provide it for you. I hope they go deep into the playoffs because they are a ton of fun.
Honorable mention goes to the New York Islanders. Every time you tune in, you know there will be a ton of chances and goals scored. Watching Mathew Barzal is a nice bonus, too.
Peter Tessier
There teams that have certain players that drive the bus and are worth watching simply because of what they do, Oilers (McDavid) Jets(Laine) Blackahws (Kane) being notables. But as a team being the most exciting that gets a little more complicated because it would include all elements of the team.
For me that team is the Predators. Rinne has been great between the pipes, the defence led by Subban is awesome and the forward group is dynamic as well. Honourable mention is the Lightning who are juggernauts and are the Bruins despite being banged up they are still a ton of fun to watch.
James Tanner
The most entertaining team to watch this year is the Toronto Maple Leafs. Most likely the NHL's fastest team, the Leafs score a lot, and have more players worth the price of admission than any other team. Whether it's Matthews, Nylander, Marner, Kadri, JVR, Rielly or even the blazing speed of Kasperi Kapanen, the Leafs are nothing but fun. Plus, they suck at defense, so even if you enjoy watching the Leafs players but don't cheer for them, you always have a chance to enjoy yourself no matter what.
