After the ugly performance against Buffalo one thing settles my nerves; knowing Babcock’s game face is engrained in the players heads when they closer their eyes at night.

Sure our Maple Leafs are in a glorious spot priming up for the playoffs, but they need to keep pushing the envelope and finish the season with a bang.

Back to coach Babcock.

You can bet the Leafs will be doing some skating drills this week after losing to the lowly Sabres. It’s tough getting pumped to play Buffalo, we all get that. But the truth is you have to put up two points against that Sabres team who are playing for nothing right now but a chance at another first overall pick in the summer. They aren’t even playing the Leafs as a spoiler to knock us out of a playoff spot. This is why Babcock was likely pissed off after the game and likely wasted little of his breath talking about the game ensuring the players know he was not exactly thrilled with their effort.

Leafs are a contender in my books and I want them to clean up teams like Buffalo; padding their stats, not hanging their goalie out to dry who’s been a horse all season.

I expect them to come out flying on Saturday night as they will be well rested and eager to get back in action and even more so back to their winning ways.

So when does Matthews return? My guess is March 14th vs Dallas. This gives Matthews another full week of recovery time while only missing one more game. Zero reason to rush him back, but it would be nice to have Auston back in action as the Leafs try to catch fire as they enter the post season.

What do you think, will the Leafs end up playing the Boston or Tampa Bay in round one?

Will we see Andreas Johnsson in action? He leads the Marlies with 52 points in 52 games.

What do you think about Dermott and his play? Has he won the hearts of management and will he stick for the rest of the season?

Thanks for reading, have a great day.
