Sunday Rumours...many icy things to ponder for this August Sunday

My dog Burt is back to his ball obsession. He is absolutely amazing at catching tennis balls. He gave us quite the scare last night, but he is 100% better this morning...thanks for all the great emails and well-wishes.

The delay in the Cammalleri ruling is really interesting and I believe shows quite clearly the intesity of the situation. This is going to get really intense this week...A source told me last night to expect the ruling to be followed by about 24 hours of inquiries and trade talks around the league. The Leafs, Sabres, Islanders and Bruins are the leading candidates.

I talked to a source today that said Forsberg may sign as soon as November. The Avalanche are finally starting to come around as well...A source in Ottawa told me that there is a plan in place to get the money to get Foppa in Red and Black, and that some numbers have been exchanged between the parties. The new ownership group in Nashville wants to make a splash and there are rumours that they could try to get both Peter and Teemu if both are still around when the sale gets final approval.

The money that the Preds have cut from the cap are not about this group wanting to keep the cap low, it is about them wanting to have some play money to make their mark. This is one excited group of people and you can bet your big floppy hat they will spend.

I heard this morning that the Coyotes, Isles and Canadiens are interested in Allison.

The Canadiens have received a zillion inquiries regarding Price and he is NOT going anywhere.

I am hearing that Peca to the Leafs is now about 75%, and the only thing holding up a few Leafs trades right now is the possibility that Scotty Bowman could be taking over the Leafs (oh the irony) and may make wholesale changes. Both parts of that are sketchy. First off, Bowman loves his role in Detroit, and secondly I am not so certain that he does remove the GM and the Coach. One source told me he would, two told me he would not. So I thinking everyone is guessing...

Eric Lindros. Four teams very interested if #88 decides to return to the ice: Boston, Vancouver, Calgary and San Jose,

Read Garth's blog today. Great stuff...

Andy Sutton is a possibility to the Pens or Sabres in the next week. The Sabres also are rumoured to have some interest in Marchant and the #1 pick that Burke seems to consider blood money and wants to get rid of...The Ducks like Afinogenov and Stafford.

The Sharks are a team that has intertest in Marion Hossa...The Thrashers like Bernier.

As always I don't hear every aspect of these possible moves "on the record," and since the biggest faux pas in this buisiness is reporting stories that you are told "Off The Record," I hope you all can understand that I need to respect my sources wishes if we want to get good stuff in days to come.. It isn't worth reporting one big story of "Off the Record" info for the short term when news spreads fast of who can't be trusted with secret information in this buisiness.

Add the Blue Jackets to the list of teams who are trying to get Patrick Marleau.

I will be in and out for the next little bit. Taking the dog (and the delicious rice and chicken I cooked for him) to our good friend's house (who is a vet) for the day while we try to get back to the shore for this family reunion...

Your FIX today is for all you Leafs fans who are growing tired of this waiting game...
