The Pittsburgh Penguins have made a minor roster move on Friday evening

My take on this move is that Jim Rutherford is giving a veteran player a chance to show himself against good competition in training camp so that he can catch on elsewhere. Jay McClement can't help the Pittsburgh Penguins because there are a cornucopia of players currently in the system who can provide more than he can.

Craig Adams overstayed his welcome and Jay McClement is cut from the same cloth, except with worse results.



I wouldn't overthink this signing. It is what it is.
