On HNIC’s Saturday Night Headlines, Sportsnet’s Nick Kypreos and Elliotte Friedman the latest rumors prior to the March 1 trade deadline.

The Vancouver Canucks look to be poised to be sellers on Wednesday, as players with limited no-trade clauses (Jannik Hansen, Ryan Miller and Alex Burrows) were asked to submit their list of teams.

Friedman indicated that Burrows may have a very small and specific list of teams he is willing to go to.

THE BUZZ –Hansen has another year on his contract at $2.5 Million, but could attract a large return. Interest in Miller may have been harmed by the Ben Bishop deal on Sunday, as there are only a few teams have the need for a starting goalie or insurance as a backup.

Burrows is not the player he was when the Canucks were Cup contenders, but could be a valuable add as a depth forward and role player. Vancouver may have to retain a portion of his $4.5 Million salary to get a better return.

The Kings are looking to move veteran winger Marian Gaborik before the deadline, but it may be tough to find interested teams since Gaborik has another four years left at $4.875 Million per season.

THE BUZZ – The motivation for Kings GM Dean Lombardi has to be clearing cap space to re-sign RFA forwards Tyler Toffoli and Tanner Pearson this summer, but there are not going to be many teams interested in a chronically injured 35-year-old.

The Colorado Avalanche are not budging from their asking price for either Matt Duchene or Gabriel Landeskog. GM Joe Sakic is looking for three or four pieces, including a top young defenseman/goalie, a top prospect and high draft pick.

THE BUZZ – Sakic must have jumped for joy when he saw the return that Arizona got for rental Martin Hanzal (a first, second and conditional pick), which only reinforces his asking price for his two top-six forwards who have term left on their contracts.

A Duchene/Landeskog may still be a better fit for the summer, when teams are more willing to give up the pieces that Colorado is looking for.
