Danny Briere and his agent, Pat Brisson, have a new strategy:

Test the Free Agent market.

Brisson has said as much to TSN.


"We've made a decision to go to July 1st".



I phoned Brisson's office five minutes ago and was told "no comment".



Montreal will come hard, out of the gate, with its 7 year , $7 million belt high fastball.

Philly is said to be in the 5 year / $6 million per range. Holmgren better up the ante.


With the jacked up cap, teams like LA and Philly can, and, will reach for the upper deck to land a blue chip UFA like Briere.
