Oilers VP of Hockey Operations Kevin Prendergast was just a guest on Oilers rightsholder 630 CHED Radio in Edmonton with my colleague Morley Scott. He calls the day "frustrating" and says the team has been trying to make moves but haven't been able to make one work.

On who they'll draft: "We're pretty confident that we're going to get one of Alzner, Gagner or Voracek."

On the price for moving up in the draft: "It's gone ridiculous to be honest with you. We talked to some teams this morning and started moving along at a pretty good pace. We broke for lunch and I don't know what they were drinking or smoking or whatever but they came back with some crazy situations."

He emphasized, though, that plenty of seeds have been planted that could very well materialize into deals in the coming days. This isn't trade deadline day, folks...at the very least, trade foundations are being set.

Prendergast also mentioned that the Kings and Capitals are looking to move down.
