The Stanley Cup Champion Anaheim Ducks have re-signed Dustin Penner, Travis Moen and George Parros. Moen, who was a standout forward on the Ducks shutdown line and who was credited with scoring the Stanley Cup clinching goal in Game 5, signed a two-year, $1.825 million contract.

Penner, coming off a rookie season that saw him score 29 goals and who shined along side fellow young stars Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry, signed a three-year, $7 million contract.

Parros, the most popular healthy scratch the league has seen in quite some time, signed a two-year contract. Still no word on the money involved, and please keep in mind that none of the money I am listing is official but rather what I am hearing, but Ducks fans will be happy to have The 'Stache back in town for two more years.

Still a lot of work for Brian Burke to do before free agency begins as J.S. Giguere, Joe DiPenta, Kent Huskins, Ric Jackman, Sean O'Donnell, Teemu Selanne, Shawn Thornton and Joe Motzko - among others - are all set to become UFA's on July 1st.

If the conventional wisdom of the NHL being a copycat league is true than the NHL should be a lot of fun to watch next season. If teams decide to try to copy the Anaheim Ducks formula of big, fast, physical players that are willing to fight and attempt to physically intimidate their opponents - who would complain? The Ducks play an entertaining style of hockey and give something for every fan to enjoy whether it be a great pass, jaw dropping goal, a save bordering on theft, devastating hit or punishing fight.

During this past season the Ducks proved themselves to be a big, fast, nasty team that was willing to take penalties without apologies. There were numerous players that took pride in their ability to forecheck aggressively, to fight, to stand up for their teammates and to crash the net looking for any scoring opportunity. They were penalized more than any other team and were still good enough to dominate the league, lead the Pacific Division from wire to wire and to go 16-5 in the playoffs. If more teams build themselves in that fashion the league will be more entertaining, more controversial and more interesting.

In a couple of days I’ll have a post discussing the job that Brian Burke has done as GM of this team but until then please check out the Puck Podcast on iTunes and FOXSports.com.
