QUICK HITS: SEPTEMBER 20, 2016

1) On-ice sessions at the Philadelphia Flyers' rookie camp start today at the Skate Zone in Voorhees, NJ. The players will be on the ice starting at 10 a.m. ET. As is always the case, the camp is open to the public and free to attend. Tomorrow, the Flyers rookies will play the New York Islanders rookies at the Northwell Health Ice Center in Long Island.

2) World Cup: Jakub Voracek scored a goal in the Czech Republic's 3-2 overtime loss to Team Europe at the World Cup of Hockey on Monday. On the play, Voracek carried the puck into the right circle and snapped a shot past Jaroslav Halak to knot the score at 1-1 in the middle stages of the second period. Flyers goaltender Michal Neuvirth backed up Petr Mrazek in this game.

Flyers center Pierre-Edouard Bellemare assisted on the Zdeno Chara goal that opened the scoring. He also blocked three shots and logged 4:07 worth of penalty killing ice time. Flyers defenseman Mark Streit had 4:17 of power play time among his modest 13:52 of overall ice time. Streit had a rough shift late in game, falling down in his own zone and struggling to contain his check when he got back up. However, Team Europe won the game shortly thereafter as Mats Zuccarello sprang Leon Draisaitl on a breakaway and the German forward snapped a blocker side shot past Mrazek to end the game.

3) Flyers defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere beat Sergei Bobrovsky with a shot with a late-game opportunity to score but hit the post as Team North America, done in by a four-goal outburst by Team Russia in the second period, went down 4-3. Gostisbehere had four shots on goal and skated 22:52 (including 6:44 on the power play) in the game. Flyers center Sean Couturier played 13:27 (4:23 on the penalty kill) and was minus-one at even strength.

4) Flyers 2016 fifth-round pick Linus Högberg recorded his first professional hockey point in the Växjö Lakers' 2-0 road shut out win over Färjestad in the first game of his team's SHL regular season slate. The young defenseman assisted on an Albin Storm goal in the second period to give his team a 1-0 lead. The game was not Högberg's SHL debut, as he dressed in two games last season.

5) Flyers 2015 fourth-round pick Mikhail Vorobyov and his Salavat Yulaev Ufa team are in action today, hosting HC Sochi.
