Coyotes Lose to Blues, Acquire Arcobello

Obviously there is bigger news going on, but the Coyotes played a good game last night against the Blues - or should I say that Mike Smith played a good game? - but either way, it was a good effort for a last place team vs a first place one.

The big, breaking, massive news of course is the waiver pick-up of Mark Arcobello.

He's 26, on the small side but skilled and will cover for Hanzal while he is out of the lineup - so basically he's the new #2 centre, since Hanzal rarely plays.

This season, with three different teams he`s played 50 games and put up eight goals and seven assists.

The Coyotes will be his fourth team of the season. Now, you can take that two ways, but the way I choose to interpret it is that he has enough talent that makes teams willing to take a chance on him, but ultimately not enough to be an every day player on a good team.

He seems to be the classic 2B kind of guy - not too much of a grinder, but not offensive enough in the Show to put up the numbers necessary to keep a full-time job.

He`s skilled but at 5`8 or 5`9 he`s constantly facing an uphill battle for an NHL job. Still, he adds skill and depth to the lineup at not cost.

I might update later, but I have to go to work. Just thought it was worth reporting on, since its clearly the big story of the day and everyone will want to know just what I think of Mark Arcobello going to Arizona.

I couldn't`t be more pumped!

Thanks for reading.
