Rumor Update: On Franson, Berglund, Kopecky, and Tlusty |

Here is your update from last night, which I thought I had posted before I fell asleep! Sorry about that. I owe you a bonus update later today after I talk to everyone prior to the All-Star game.
On Tomas Kopecky...
Very valuable asset for Florida. Many around the NHL believe he is the exact kind of player they would like to add for a playoff run and as the Panthers have fallen off the pace a bit the likelihood increases. The Canucks and Penguins have thrusted themselves into the fray on this one.
On Jiri Tlusty...
The Washington Capitals are a name I have heard connected A LOT to Tlusty over the last 48 hours. Usually when this happens this suddenly and this unanimously it means there is a player Carolina really likes from Washington as well. That player could be Mike Green I am told. Green is not on the rumor chart...yet. I am starting to hear his name more and more though.
On Cody Franson...
The PR push for a Franson trade is in full gear to be certain, as negotiations to get him signed have hit a crossroad. Franson wants to stay a Leaf...so you can see why the Leafs would want their demands out in the public. Colorado, Minnesota, Philly, and Anaheim are teams calling...I am told. I would expect LA to get in on this, as would Toronto, but at least to this point I am told LA is "pretty far into working out another solution for their hole on the blue line." That might be one way of saying LA isn't going to do anything until they see through the possibilities of picking up Keith Yandle.
On Patrik Berglund...
I have to tell you I hadn't heard Berglund mentioned at all over the past few weeks. Everyone knew he could potentially be available " (and that is exactly how it has been phrased, over and over again) but the Blues were focused elsewhere and at least acting like they would have to be blown away...Enter Montreal and to a lesser extent Washington. Keep an eye on this one closely.
more to come....
