Another Smashville Saturday Night, another win as the Nashville Predators took care of the Philadelphia Flyers in convincing fashion with a thoroughly satisfying 4-1 win in front of a sold out Bridgestone Arena. The story of the game?

The Power Play.

No… this isn’t another diatribe bemoaning the lack of production… but a celebration of a true breakout. Three power play goals on five opportunities and a shooting gallery on every single opportunity that drove the Preds season conversion up over two percentage points. For one of the few times this season, I can say that the power play was better than Nashville’s he five on five play

The stars of the night were Filip Forsberg and Colin Wilson. Forsberg with a goal and an assist to keep his point per game season going and Colin Wilson, potting two, including the Frosty empty netter when the Flyers pulled their goalie with three minutes left.

The win puts the Preds three points ahead of Tuesday night’s opponent, St. Louis… but first… a trip to the United Center looms for a Monday night showdown. Chicago leads the Preds by two points, but the Predators have two games in hand on the Blackhawks. Opponent-wise… this may be the toughest back-to-back of the season.

Here are the highlights from nhl.com…
