Game notes:
- Sergei Bobrovsky has been the focal point of this seven-game winning streak, and he'll need to be good again tonight if the Jackets want to build on it. Over Bobrovsky's last seven starts he has stopped 230-242 for a .950SV%, and is up to .923SV% on the year.
- The Caps are a good 5 vs 5 team, but the Jackets are getting better in that regard as they get healthy and should be able to play with them. They probably won't fare very well, though, if they start taking penalties and get into a special teams battle. Neither PK unit is particularly good, but the Blue Jackets PP is good where as the Capitals arguably have the top PP in hockey. As I've said before, if you give Ovechkin, Backstrom and co. opportunities they'll burn you.
- Boone Jenner has picked it up offensively as he has six points (five goals, one assist) in his last seven games and has 19 shots on goal in that span. He's provided Columbus with some big goals and with a few top forwards still out and Ryan Johansen struggling a little bit he'll need to keep going.
- Jeremy Morin didn't record a point, but he was good in his 1st game playing a limited 12:50. It'll be interesting to see if he gets a bit of a bump in ice tonight having a game and some practice time under his belt now.
