Game notes:
- Jeremy Morin will be making his debut with the Blue Jackets tonight. He's been up and down between the AHL and NHL over the last few years but has always produced whenever given a legitimate opportunity, and he's going to get that in Columbus. You can bet he'll be motivated to prove he's a legitimate NHL player, and that's good news for a Blue Jackets team that could use some scoring depth.
- A key matchup tonight with be Ryan Johansen vs Henrik Zetterberg/Pavel Datsyuk. Both are a handful at either end of the ice and you can bet Johansen will see one of them almost every time he touches the ice. He's going to have to find a way to produce.
- Special teams are going to be very important in this game. Columbus is a mediocre 5 vs 5 team while the Red Wings are one of the best, so they have the advantage there. The Jackets will likely have to win the special teams battle to make up for it if they want to extend this streak to seven.
- Sergei Bobrovsky has allowed just 12 goals in his last six starts (all wins) and has stopped 200-212 in that span, good for a .943SV%. He's giving the Jackets a chance to win every night, which is good news for a Columbus team that's trying to make up ground and get back into the thick of the playoff race.
