One thing has nothing to do with the other, but I'm at work and don't have time to think of good headlines.

The Islanders have placed Cory Conacher on waivers. Now, should we presume he will move down to the Sound Tigers should he not be claimed? Should we hope that someone is coming off injury? It's all a numbers game in the NHL and yesterday's number for the Isles was a very depressing 6 - 3 loss in St. Louis.

On a happier note, today is Billy Smith's birthday.
