Blue Jackets, Oilers Talking: Anisimov For Perron?

With the struggling Blue Jackets looking to shake things up and the Edmonton Oilers starving for a center, this makes a whole lot of sense.

Columbus has Ryan Johansen, Boone Jenner, and Alex Wennberg down the middle, and with Brandon Dubinsky set to return within the next few weeks and Marko Dano quickly developing, Anisimov is expendable.

I wrote this summer that I could see Anisimov being moved because of the Blue Jackets' depth down the middle, and it appears that could be the case sooner than later.

Perron is off to a slow start with just 10 points through 21 games with the Oilers, but he was two goals and an assist shy of 30/30 last year and generally does very well in possession.

Perron is signed through 2015-16 at a very cap friendly figure of $3.8 million, and at 26 years of age there's no reason to believe he can't be a big contributor for the Jackets long-term.

Obviously nothing is done yet, but this is a deal (or the basis of one) that makes sense should it come to fruition.
