Finding A Way To Win

It's a rainy, dreary Monday morning and as we head back to work so do the Islanders. After a poor showing in Tampa, the Isles need to work on a few things today in order to make sure that the Bolts don't come away with another big game against the Isles this time in Uniondale.

Yes, Tampa is a "skilled" team and they have a "monster" in net, but teams that win the Stanley Cup find ways to win against the odds. If the Isles want to be that sort of team this year, Jack will need to find a way to do it. Whether it is mental or physical, they have to find a way.

The Bolts won't be the only difficult team in the league and losing two in a row to them will be deflating. I hope they watched tape all day long yesterday to see where they went wrong on Saturday.

While Shannon Hogan may have peppered Chad Johnson with questions about what went wrong, I won't pin the loss entirely on his pads. Had Kyle Okposo not missed the net a few times, maybe the score would have been different.

It's a pretty sure bet that Halak will be in net after being well rested. What they need to do is stay out of the box and find a way to put a puck past Ben Bishop. Find a hole from a bad angle, anything they can do. Listen to the way Jack Capuano talks about Bishop.

So the Isles have their work cut out for them today. So do I. First full day back after Vacation is usually brutal.
