Game notes:

- By my count the Jets have two top-4 defensemen in Jacob Trouba and Tobias Enstrom. Their defense core as a whole isn't great offensively, and they aren't overly physical so the Devils should be able to generated plenty of scoring opportunities; especially cycling the puck down low.

- After a couple good starts to begin the season, Ondrej Pavelec is back to his old self and currently owns a .901SV%. He'll make some big saves on occasion, but has always posted below league average save percentages and tends to allow plenty of weak ones, so the Devils should throw everything they can on net.

- The Devils team defense has struggled and their penalty kill has been abysmal, but the Jets have had an equally tough time trying to score. If ever there was a game to right the ship and get back to Devils hockey this would be it.

- After allowing seven unanswered and the embarrassment that came with that, you know the Devils will come out ready to play at home tonight. If the Devils can get an early lead it'll be tough for the Jets to come back with the way they've been going offensively.

- Jacob Josefson arguably had the best game of his career in that debacle against Pittsburgh. He scored a beautiful short handed goal, and drew a penalty as well. He's played very well on the 4th line since being inserted into the lineup and is averaging about 10 minutes a game. If he continues to play well Pete DeBoer will have a tough time taking him out.
