Yandle?

One market that is going through the roof right now is the defensive market...

We talked about Tyler Myers yesterday and one team that is VERY deep on the defensive end, especially with prospects is Phoenix....so it was just a matter of time before Yandle's name would emerge again..especially given the market for D. The Flyers have always loved Keith Yandle and tried a few times to acquire him in the past. I am told those talks are heating up once again, but I believe San Jose may have more to offer and they are looking at Yandle like a replacement part for Boyle...who they have missed...

In fact the Bruins, Sharks, Oilers, Flyers, Stars, and Ducks are looking for D help...That is a lot of teams with a lot of expectations...see why Yandle might be available?

The Stewart Factor...

Last summer I was told Chris Stewart was a player the Sabres wanted to keep around through their rebuild. They really liked him. The question is does he want to remain a Sabre, and exactly how valuable he is right now. Right now it is apparent the market is driving the Stewart rumors and while I am hearing the Sabres would still be fine holding him moving forward they have to pay attention to the numerous offers.

The Sabres reportedly asked for a ton from Boston on their first volley, and that has cooled a few of the other teams on Stewart...for now. But all we need to see is a losing streak and the Sabres will be busy on the phones again.

And the Sabres are looking at this all the right way at this point. They aren't only talking to Boston, but rather hearing out some other options as well. And they like the player enough to keep him if no one will pay the ransom.

We will talk about all of this and more today at 1pm on the HockeyBuzzCast.
