The Flyers, Rangers, Bruins and Sharks are all trying to add defensive help right now via trade and even though the teams are putting some fairly significant players in front of GM's who would appear to have defensive depth, the teams are getting nowhere. I am being told the asking price for even a 5/6 is a first round pick and a roster player.

One team rep told me he believed a few teams would end up getting stuck with defenseman because they priced themselves out of the market early this season.
