Some Quick Hits...

Patrick Roy may have to lace 'em up...

Tough Day to be a Colorado goalie...First, Semyon Varlamov went on IR yesterday with a groin injury. A few sources called the injury "minor" but with the importance Varlamov holds to the Avs future the IR this early in the season was seen as prudent. So Reto Berra, Varly's backup, got the start last night, but only lasted a little more than two minutes before he was injured...soooo.

The Avalanche had been already looking at backup options and one such option looks like it may get done I am told. Tomas Vokoun is now in the Avs sights. This would be a great move. This is nothing against Berra at all, but if Colorado is going to be considered a Cup contender they really need a backup they can trust with some experience moving forward.

I am told this is probably not the spot for Martin Brodeur...and I still contend, as do my sources in the matter, Marty sees plenty of Eastern teams closer to home who could need a goalie at some point.

Oilers VERY much talking to Teams regarding Yakupov...

"There is little doubt now that Yakupov is going to be moved, " a trusted source texted me...and he may be looking at a rather ironic landing spot....Columbus. Stay tuned there...the Devils and Islanders are also big on Yakupov.

We wil talk this and more including those amazing Islanders on Today's Buzzcast today Live at 1pm.
