Terry and Kim Pegula are the front runners to become the new owners of the NFL Buffalo Bills. The Buffalo Sabres owners were in Manhattan on Wednesday to meet with the Ralph Wilson family trust. Two weeks ago, the Pegula's submitted their non-binding bid to own the Bills. Late last week, they were green lighted through to the final round which includes the face to face meeting with the trust. The Bon Jovi group and Donald Trump were also permitted to advance to the next round of the negotiation.

By all accounts, the Pegulas and Trump are still in the running, while the Bon Jovi group is reportedly imploding.

Jon Bon Jovi, Larry Tanenbaum and members of the very influential Rogers family comprise the rock star's ownership group. According to reports, the Bon Jovi-led group met with the Wilson Trust on Tuesday in Gotham. At this point in the game, it appears that Bon Jovi and his mates are just trying to save face.

The cracks in the group's foundation are related back to its motives to buy the Bills, then move the team to Toronto in 2020.

It must have been a very uncomfortable introduction for Bon Jovi and his group to finally have a face to face, sit down meeting with the Wilson Trust, the same group that told him last week to go back to the drawing board and to re-submit a proposal that called for more clarity on the key point that the Bills will be staying in Buffalo on a permanent basis. In other words, the Wilson Trust told Bon Jovi and his partners to "show us, don't tell us" about their intentions to keep the Bills in Buffalo.

Awkward, to say the least.

The Pegulas are winning on all fronts right now. The Pegulas are winning in the court of public opinion. They've got the unlimited cash flow supply to win a $1+ billion bidding war for the Bills. They've said repeatedly that their intention is to keep the Bills in Buffalo.

Pegula is a man of his word.

Bon Jovi? Not so much.

On Thursday, The Buffalo Fan Alliance tweeted this document that clearly connects the acquisition of the Buffalo Bills to a move to Toronto.

Bon Jovi's nose is growing, eh?
