10:20 pm: So the question came up about that "guarantee" of $275K for Kevin Poulin. As generally NOTHING in life is guaranteed, it seems Mr. Poulin does have one.
The way it works is that KP only needs to play two or three games in the NHL in order to make up the difference from his AHL salary and his guarantee. Considering the posibility of injury, or just too many games back-to-back, the idea that Poulin would be in net at some point during the 82 game season anyway.
Now, if he isn't called up, they will still make up the difference and it's all okay with the CBA. Soooo.... Let's just say, Kevin Poulin will make $275,000 this season and be done with it.
Earlier today:
Maybe an early birthday present to himself, but Garth Snow has found a way to get Kevin Poulin to listen to reason and sign a two way contract with the Islanders.
As reported all over twitter.

#Isles and Poulin have avoided arbitration by signing 1-year, two-way deal, per @Sportsnet
I swear, everything looks better in French.

Poulin's bone of contention was his AHL paycheck, so this works out quite nicely for him. Now, should he be able to play over his head, his next contract should very well be a one-way NHL deal.
Now not everyone thinks this is the greatest.

I've been a Kevin Poulin backer, but this guy after parts of four seasons in the AHL/NHL still hasn't found it. Time to move on. #isles
Well, can't trade him if he ain't signed, right?
As Art Staple mentions, the Isles now have no unsigned RFA's.
Isles say it's a 1-year, 2-way deal. So, I'd believe them.
