Lou Lamoriello can check another item off the to do list, as Jacob Josefson has agreed to an extension with the team.

The two sides were rumored to be closing in on a contract, but it's now been finalized, according to Josefson's agent Peter Wallén. When asked to confirm the extension, Wallén simply said "it's done."

Terms of the deal are still unknown, but Josefson presumably signed a one-way contract. With the Devils having 14 forwards on one-way deals (assuming Josefson signed a one-way) and the team still working on an extension with Ryan Carter, a couple of bodies will surely be moved.

I've written about possible trades in the past, but even when a body or two is moved I'm still not sure exactly where Josefson will fit in. I suppose that's something that will be figured out down the road.

In the meantime, Josefson is locked up, and the Devils have added another part to a puzzle that already had too many pieces.
