The 2014-15 season schedule has been announced and there are quite a few days to mark on your calender! Lets start at the beginning.

On September 25th, the Blues will play their first home game of the pre-season against the Columbus Blue Jackets, their former division rival. Games between these two opponents are always fun to watch.

Just two days later on the 27th, the Blues will be hosting the Dallas Stars in Kansas City! Do you live in Kansas? Making any Blues home games could be difficult for you. Well now they will give you the chance to attend a game closer to home!

October 9th, the New York Rangers come to town as the Blues open the 2014-15 season at home. This will be the second time in five seasons that the Blues have hosted an eastern conference team to start the season. The last time they did, was against the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2010-11 season. The Blues walked away with a 2-1 overtime win with the game winning goal being scored by Carlo Colaiacovo.

October 25th will be the Blues first chance for payback, as they host the Chicago Blackhawks for the first time since being eliminated by the Hawks in the first round this past season.

Alex Ovechkin will be in town on November 15th. Make sure your dad doesn't schedule hernia surgery because this will be the only chance to watch Ovechkin play in St. Louis this season unless the Blues meet the Capitals in the finals!

Jaroslav Halak fan? The Blues will be in New York to take on the Islanders on December 6th, only to see Halak and the Islanders hit St. Louis on the 11th for a battle on Scottrade Center ice. I do hope that if Halak gets the start at the Scottrade Center, the fans will give him a hearty welcome. For the Blues sake, lets hope he doesn't do to the Blues like what he did to the Canadiens when he faced them for the first time. (If you don't know, he shut them out!)

You remember the Red Wings? The dreaded Red Wings that used to win a lot of cups while beating up on the Blues? Well the Blues will face them for the only time on home ice January 15th. Come on, I know the hate you have for them still resonates in your soul.

Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and the Pittsburgh Penguins will be in town on February 21st. Here is a fun fact about Crosby, he's never scored a goal against the St. Louis Blues. As a matter of fact, out of all the teams in the NHL, the Blues are one of only two teams Crosby has never scored on. Who is the other? That would be the San Jose Sharks.

April 9th is the last game we're looking at, as it's the second to last game of the season, and it's against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Everyone knows how much the Blues and the Blackhawks hate one another. With these two teams battling in the playoffs, and of course, looking back on the Seabrook hit on Backes. Clean or not, there is almost zero doubt that there will be repercussions for the hit. There is no doubt, that the games between these two opponents will be entertaining.

Stay tuned tomorrow when we look at potential draft targets with the 21st and 33rd overall draft selections that the Blues hold.
