This season...

The Wild took 3 of 5 with one of the Hawks wins coming in a shootout.

Last three seasons...

Over the last three campaigns these teams have met 12 times, with each winning 6. The wild winning 3 in shootouts, the Hawks 2..

All time...

These teams have faced each other 52 times with the Wild winning 30, the Hawks 21 and the teams have one tie...from the good ole days of yore.

Playoffs...

This series is the rematch from last year's opening round which saw the Hawks take down the Wild in 5 tough games that saw game 1 go to overtime. That was the only time these teams ever faced.

Prediction...

Even though these teams don't have much of a playoff history the Hawks and North Stars played 6 very memorable playoff series between 1981 and 1994... So these cities have a rich history of playoff battles. The Wild is a tough team to predict because they are capable of playing some of the most stifling defense in the NHL. They are remind me of the NJ Devils of ten years ago...except they don't have Marty Brodeur in goal for them. if the series goes long there is a small chance Harding returns...but for now...it's Bryz and that could go either way.

These Hawks might be better than the previous Hawks teams who won Stanley Cups. They are a force and really have very few holes. The Wild's forecheck could give them fits but Crawford is way too experienced and won't be susceptible to the same sorts of issue Varlamov had in the first round..

Hawks in 6
