Help Wanted: Sabres Coaching Staff |
|
|
|
When Ted Nolan signed his new three year contract extension last month, you knew that it was only a mater of time that he would get the opportunity to select his own coaching staff.
One day after Nolan and GM Tim Murray gave their state of the Sabres, end of season address, massive changes occurred on the Buffalo coaching staff.
On Wednesday, the Sabres said farewell to four coaches, including their long time goalie coach Jim Corsi, and Buffalo Sabres folk hero Teppo Numminen.
Ron Rolston hired Joe Sacco and Jerry Forton. Neither coach will be brought back next season.
Nolan has begun his search for replacements.
Corsi has been the Buffalo goalie coach since 1998.
Numminen's deal wasn’t renewed after three seasons.
Sacco and Forton have been offered new jobs within the organization’s hockey department.
Keep an eye on Rochester assistant coach Randy Cunneyworth.
