"If we didn't have bad luck, we'd have no luck."

"If we didn't have bad luck, we'd have no luck." That was Ted Nolan after the game against Montreal.

Jhonas Enroth was hit hard and left the game with an injury. Just when he received his biggest chance to make his case for starting goaltender in the future, he was forced out of the game.

Nothing has gone right for the team this year, and it keeps getting worse. Enroth looked like he took a pretty solid jolt:

The opportunity for Nathan Lieuwen finally came. He made his NHL debut and stopped all 10 shots he faced in just over a period of play. Congrats to him and hopefully we'll see him keep improving. What a difference in size, though.

I was glad to see the Sabres honor Thomas Vanek with a tribute video. They dropped the ball with Pominville, but got it right this time. He got a well deserved ovation.

I watched the Amerks get clobbered by Binghamton on Sunday evening. They are a tough team to watch right now, but it's really not their fault. After having such a solid defensive core, injuries and callups have plagued Rochester.

After being tied 2-2 after 40 minutes, Binghamton ended up winning 7-3. To make things worse, Matt Hackett was in goal and he looked terrible. He got beat on some good shots...and some bad ones.

Hackett is spiraling down right now, which is why Nathan Lieuwen was called up instead.

Both Rochester and Buffalo are struggling, but in an all out rebuild, we probably shouldn't expect too much. The Sabres have set themselves up with a few great picks in the upcoming drafts, and have some promising prospects in the works.

Eklund mentioned that Buffalo might be open to trading the top pick for some NHL-ready prospects. It's an intriguing thought, but I'm not sure that's what Buffalo needs just yet. I'd like to see the Sabres hold on to it.

As always, thank you for reading!
