Today Verizon FIOS and major-league baseball announced a new package that will enable viewers who purchased the major-league baseball package on Verizon FIOS cable to get all of the MLB online packages for free as well. This is not that different then subscribers of HBO say getting HBO GO on their iPad or Roku. It seems like this is the right and obvious thing to do, but to my knowledge this is the first major sports league, in America at least, that has done it this way.

For many years now I am one NHL fan who is bought not only GameCenter online but also the Center Ice package. Of course I have to do this for my job, but I really do believe the NHL owes it to their fans to combine these once and for all. And I also believe they may find they make more money by doing so.

Are you a current Gamecenter subscriber?
Do you subscribe to center ice?
Do you pay for both?

Would you pay one fee if it was all inclusive?

Let me know and I will pass this along.
