The Dominator has a special day coming up this month.

#39 will be heading to the Sabres Hall of Fame.

From the press release:
"Hasek, one of the most prolific goaltenders in NHL history, will be officially inducted as the 42nd member of the Sabres Hall of Fame in a ceremony on March 29, prior to the team’s home game against the Tampa Bay Lightning at First Niagara Center.

During his time in Buffalo, Hasek held numerous franchise records and, upon his departure from the Sabres, owned the records for most all-time games played (491), wins (234), shutouts (55) and lowest career goals-against average (2.22). Hasek appeared in a career-high 72 games for the club in the 1997-98 season, setting a team record with 13 shutouts, only to follow that up with a career-best 1.87 GAA, .937 save percentage and a Stanley Cup Final berth in 1998-99."

Jersey numbers wreaking havoc
For 11 seasons, Ryan Miller wore #30 as a goaltender. That's not the number he would have liked, though. While he's no longer playing for Buffalo, I'm discussing him now because newly acquired goaltender Michal Neuvirth also wears #30.

And if you haven't heard by now, Neuvirth is planning to keep the #30 and the Sabres have said that is acceptable.

A lot of people, including myself, believe that he shouldn't be able to wear that number. Miller doesn't have his number retired in Buffalo and isn't in the Hall of Fame, but just out of courtesy and respect, the new goaltender should switch his own.

There's nothing wrong with keeping the #30, but after a franchise goalie was just traded days ago, it's a bit disrespectful, at least in my mind.

The Sabres have confirmed that Neuvirth is wearing No. 34 tonight and not No. 30.

Cory Conacher was in a similar situation. The forward wore #89 coming in, but with that being Alexander Mogilny's number, Conacher has agreed to wear #88.

Also, Torrey Mitchell is #17

Then there was this:
