On Sam Gagner....
Keep your eye on Nashville. They are only a few points back and Pekka Rinne is getting close. They aren't sellers. They ARE NEVER NEVER trading Shea Weber. NEVER.
On Jagr....
Go west old man....the Red Wings, Hawks, and Canucks are all interested. The Wings have gone back and forth and I am told there are two clear factions in Detroit. One who still feels deceived by Jagr prior to his signing in Philly...but another who sees him as a needed boost.
On Tim Thomas...
I actually believe Thomas will sign next year back with the Panthers, but Dale Tallon may allow Thomas to go and fill the MUCH needed backup role in Pittsburgh for the remainder of the year. Vokoun is getting closer, but to take that risk at this point would be huge for the Pens when you can land a guy who has a Cup already to play insurance.
On Tuomo Ruutu...
One player whose stock was boosted by his Olympic performance was Ruutu. One person who knows Ruutu well is the GM in Columbus and was the assistant to Kurri in Sochi. That said, another big player in this could be the Blues. Hitchcock loves Ruutu. Much will rest on the next few games for Carolina...they are in the hunt, but heading out West.
