Following up on a report that came from Barry Melrose on WFAN in NY here. Barry stated the Islanders were close to a deal for Guerin....I talked to a source that confirmed the Isles as one of the final two teams....The other ????????

To clarify, I didn't hear the report on WFAN myself. Ashley Scharge, of Sporting News Radio, called me when he heard the report. I dug into it and, as I reported earlier, a source confirmed to me that the Isles are in the running for Guerin. If I hear anything new, as always, I'll post it here.
