The Sabres are 5-3-2 in their last 10 games and with Ryan Miller's freak performance against Washington on Sunday, the goaltender looks to be in good form.

An official announcement may be made in the next few days, but it looks like Miller has a great chance to be the starting goaltender for Team USA. Jonathan Quick and Jimmy Howard may be his biggest competition, but after seeing how he played on Sunday, I can't help but think he'll be the starting goaltender.

Miller has been a big part of the recent success, but the entire team has been playing well. After having 22 regulation losses in the first 30 games of the season, the Sabres have only 2 regulation losses in their last 9 games.

Ryan Miller has been named the NHL's "Second Star" of the week ending December 29. In the past week, Miller has amassed a 2-0-1 record with a 1.55 goals-against average and .961 save percentage.

Earlier in the season, I was all for trading Miller and getting whatever we could for him. After realizing that his stats are really no different than they have been in the past, I want him to sign an extension. He has the ability to steal a game every night. I think Buffalo will convince him to stay. He wanted to see the direction the team was headed and hopefully he sees positive things.

Miller has been left out to dry many times by the Sabres defense over the years and he's been frustrated. If they can start winning and scoring, Miller would have a much better time in goal.

With all of that, Jhonas Enroth is expected to get the start tomorrow against Winnipeg.

As always, thank you for reading!
