Super Stamkos

Steven Stamkos broke his tibia on November 11th during a game against the Bruins, had surgery to insert a rod to stabilize the bone as it heals the day after and was reported to be a potentially a season ending injury - four months at the very least with two of those being non-weight bearing. In chatting with fellow members of the media about the impact this had on the Lightning and especially Team Canada, I said that if anyone could make magic happen and come back in three months to compete for the Olympics, Stamkos could with an assist to Gary Roberts on speed dial.

Two weeks later he's walking without crutches or a cast or even a boot.

Say what?!

The doctors in Boston are magicians….

He's walking with a slight limp, but it's his hope that he'll be able to rehab, return to Tampa's lineup by the end of January and play in Sochi. Like I said two weeks ago….if anyone can do it, it's Stamkos.
