So the Sabres are good again? They managed to beat the Kings in a shootout even though they were badly outshot throughout the night. Buffalo is a perfect 3-0 in shootouts this season.

L.A. finished with 45 shots to Buffalo's 17, but somehow Ryan Miller and the Sabres hung on. 13 different Kings players recorded multiple shots on goal. Miller has continued to play well, but still doesn't get the support in front of him.

The highlight of the night was Rick Jeanneret calling the game from between the benches. Due to an elevator issue, RJ went down with Rob Ray and called the game wearing a helmet:

The Sabres finally get a win on home ice, but still haven't won in regulation. At least we're able to look forward to these two Toronto games. After what happened in the preseason, we can only hope the Sabres show up and get some revenge.

“I told him in the huddle after the game, ‘Every time I think you’re the best goalie in the world, you’re better than I think,’” he said. “He was so good and got us the win, really.”

The Sabres are having a major news conference at 10:30 a.m. this morning.

Multiple reports say that the announcement is to introduce new president of hockey operations to oversee all hockey aspects of organization.

"Sounds like Pat LaFontaine is being introduced as BUF's new president of hockey operations this morning." - Bob McKenzie
