Really, what did you expect from the Buffalo Sabres? The NHL's worst team played like, well, the NHL's worst team and the Anaheim Ducks boot stomped them, 6-2, at the Honda Center on Friday Night.

The game was full of fun and good times for the feathered faithful.

- Ryan Getzlaf collected his first career hat trick...in the first period. I found it hard to believe that the captain had never lit the lamp three time in the same game before. But it's true. Getzlaf had 14 two-goal games prior t Friday's trifecta.

- The Penner, Perry and Getzlaf line or PPG for short, had four goals and six assists in the game. PPG could also mean Point Per Game because each one of those guys is averaging over a point per game this season. They are clearly superhuman and it's their party they can do what they want to. It's their house they'll score how they want to. They can't stop and they won't stop...Yeah, Yeah.

- Dustin Penner picked up a goal and three assists for a hearty first four-point and he improved to plus-18 on the season. So far this was a heck of a signing by the GM.

- The six goal outburst was the fourth time this season the Ducks have scored that many. Anaheim really does make it look that easy.

- The Ducks improved to 14-3-1 with 29 points. They remain alone atop the NHL standings and really show no signs of slowing down. Who remembers when the Ducks lost 6-1 on opening night? Yeah, me neither.

- Rickard Rackell picked up an assist for his first NHL point. I'm sure it won't be his last.

- Frederik Andersen made 25 saves and improved to 5-0 on the season. It's an embarrassment of riches between the pipes for the Ducks.

- Anaheim was a perfect 2 of 2 on the power play and have scored four times in the last six opportunities with the man advantage. It was only a matter of time folks.

- Hey! Guess what? Cam Fowler is good! Fowler had a goal and an assist. He now has nine points (1g 8a) in 18 games this season and holy cow.....he is a plus-1! This is the same guy that has a career plus/minus rating of minus-57! Time to pop some bubbly!

Anaheim is off tomorrow before hosting the Canucks on Sunday then its on the road again for another four games.
