In hopes of jump starting the offense, the New Jersey Devils have recalled forward Cam Janssen from Albany.

Tuesday afternoon the Devils assigned Rusty Olesz to Albany and did not make another roster move, so no transaction was necessary to clear room for Janssen.

The Devils play two very physical teams in Philadelphia and Toronto within the next few days which likely factored into the decision to recall Janssen.

While no data suggests fighting helps or hurts your chances of winning games, the Devils are tied for last in the league with just two fights. Obviously Lou Lamoriello and Pete DeBoer felt more toughness was needed with upcoming games against the Flyers and Maple Leafs.

Janssen had 15 penalty minutes and one assist in 11 games with Albany prior to being recalled.

Devils' offense remains non-existent.
